About us:
1. The function of the committee is a socio-cultural political think tank espousing an open, moderate and non partisan philosophy. It aspires to provide progressive and distinctive perspectives on events and trends that shape and affect the community.
2. The principal aim of the committee is to establish national and international social, cultural, sporting, educational and political networks that will facilitate Australian community engagement and the economic development in Tripoli, Lebanon which has suffered for decades under the burden of high unemployment and a lack of basic infrastructure services.
3. The founding member is the highly respected and regarded Lebanese MP Dr Ali Darwish who was elected parliamentary representative of the community in Tripoli.
4. The committee name reflects the MP’s official role in the parliament’s Lebanese Australian friendship committee. This position mandates a long term presence in Australia to serve as a link bridging the communities in locally and internationally.

Dr Ali Darwish holds a Bachelor of business administration from Balamand University, Masters in finance from Notre Dame University, PhD in Business Administration from Newport University California, Bank manager BBAC, formerly board of directors of Rasheed Karami Exhibition centre, Lecturer and supervisor of masters and doctoral dissertations at the Jinan University and the Lebanese French university.
